Singapore Airlines’ Singapore–New York service via Frankfurt is a rare fifth-freedom route. The aircraft continues across the Atlantic, allowing passengers to travel between Frankfurt and New York on the same flight. It gives SIA access to the lucrative transatlantic market without needing a separate Frankfurt-based service. Used to be operated by the A380, now a 777.
