One of United Airlines’ oldest and most unusual routes, the Island Hopper crosses the remote central Pacific, linking communities that have few other connections to the outside world. The route connects Honolulu and Guam with a string of islands across the Marshall Islands and Micronesia, including Majuro, Kwajalein, Kosrae, Pohnpei and Chuuk. Some sectors are little more than an hour, while the complete journey spans thousands of miles and takes most of a day. Originally launched in 1968, the service continues to provide an essential lifeline for the islands it serves.
